Preserve
Your Family's Name & History in the Hotel Selkirk

Sponsoring a room in the Hotel Selkirkgives you the unique opportunity to preserve your family's name and history in Fort Edmonton Park, while supporting future projects within the Park.
The original Hote Selkirk, an Edmonton landmark for many years, was located on the corner of 101 Street and Jasper Avenue. Originally built in 1903, the Hotel Selkirk was first known as the Windsor Hotel. Many of the guests were visitors of "means" and many "people of note" were among the registrants.
The reconstructed Hotel Selkirk resides on the corner of 1905 and 1920 Street in Fort Edmonton Park. The Hotel Selkirk is fully functional - complete with 28 Heritage Rooms, 2 Selkirk Suites, Johnson's Cafe, and the Mahogany Bar. For the first time ever, guests can spend the night in the Park - 1920s style. Each room in the Hotel combines 1920s style and sophistication with a limited number of modern ammenities, such as private baths and telephone access.
Your Hotel Selkirk donation of $20,000 gives you the opportunity to honour your own family heritage in the Hotel Selkirk with the following benefits:
- Your family's history will be written and placed in your family room for the enjoyment of room guests. Once we are in receipt of all family histories a compilation of them will be published in the Hotel Selkirk Family Histories commemorative book, which will be available for purchase by the general public;
- A plaque bearing your family name (26 characters max, subject to the approval of the Foundation) will be installed on the exterior of the room door
- A plaque bearing your donor name will be added under the appropriate donor category to the donor wall on the Partner's Gate at the entrance to Fort Edmonton Park; and
- You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount of your contribution.
Donation Amount:
Heritage Room: $20,000
