The carnival midway was a virbrant, noisy place. The main objective was to attract the attention of the multitudes; bright colours, gilded images, smells of carnival food, lights and movement. The bold and exotic sideshow banner lines were an essential part of this Midway magic.
The banners in our 1920s Midway & Exhibition represent not only some of the acts known to have been
featured on the Edmonton Exhibition in the 1920s, but also all of the categories of sideshow acts that were
typical of the 1920s. This includes people or animals with extraordinary physical characteristics and skills.
