Hiding the join between each rounding board is a shield. The shields are both mirrored and lit. A charming cherub graces the bottom of Richard Bechtel's magnificent pattern.
In the interests of both time and weight, the Foundation is casting the decorative components of the shield through Heavy Industries. The casting is done from a mould of an original carved prototype.
