Knowing that dragons were not often found on PTC carousels, we nevertheless wanted a dragon on our machine. They were, after all, found on many carousels produced during the Golden Age. Rather than breaking with history by carving a dragon chariot, as originally planned, designer Lauren Baker tucked a dragon beneath the saddle cantle of Mr. T.
Mr. T was the first outer-row horse to be blocked-up by Alberta Job Corps, an organization operating under the aegis of Alberta Manpower and Employment. There, Roy Teske capably supervises a job retraining program for the unemployed, and to our great fortune has agreed to work with his students in supplying the myriad wooden blocks that we require. Since few places have the huge equipment required to produce our large body blocks, we are indeed fortunate to have the support of AJC.
Mr. T , with his tooled leather armour and typical PTC cheek strap, has a distinctly Arthurian feel. He is elegance personified. The very talented painters, from the Northern Lights group, are having great fun with the dragon.
