PTC carousels frequently carried at least one Indian pony and another horse used for hunting. Designer, Sharon Abbott, has combined both concepts in her truly original and intricate version of an Indian hunter.

Local carver Mark Bourbonnais, recently retired from the military, has added his extensive carving skills to our carousel. Since he has specialized in carving miniature faces in wood and stone over the past several years, Mark is experienced in the use of chisels and gouges. Because he was used to having his tools mounted in front of him as he worked in his home workshop, he kept cutting himself on the razor sharp tools that were set out beside him at the Bob Cherot carving workshop. As a result, he dubbed his horse "Draws Much Blood" and the name has stuck!

Mark is a third generation carver in his family, so it should come as no surprise that his eleven year old daughter, Stephanie, has been carving since she was three years old. She has carved much of Draws Much Blood's wooden tail. Detailed carving requires detailed painting, and the team of Linda Chalmers and Joan Davison was certainly up to the painting challenge.
