There is little doubt that, should the carvers choose a mascot, that mascot would be Basil, Doug Warren's dog. Ever since he was a pup, Basil had attended carving sessions, keeping both carvers and visitors to our workshop on their toes. Now Basil was a dog with attitude.

This horse, with its head way up in the air and big sweeping tail, has a most appealing saddle pack. Everyone loves it. Check closely and you will see that there is a remarkable rendition of the cheeky little pup, Basil, peeking out from under the saddle cantle. Designer, Lauren Baker, says that Basil's Folly was "one of the most fun designs" she has executed.
