Wheelchair Accessible Caboose
Even the rain could not dampen the celebratory spirit that prevailed at the official opening of the wheelchair accessible caboose in the Summer of 1996, for now every visitor to the Park could catch a ride on the E.Y.&P. Railway and experience the thrill of a steam train. Thanks to a City of Edmonton Parks and Recreation accessibility grant, the Foundation was able to install a lift to make Caboose #308 accessible to individuals in wheelchairs. The caboose can hold up to 8 wheelchairs and has standing room for 15. Caboose #308 is now an integral component of the E.Y.&P. rolling stock.
