Locomotive Boiler Repair

At the end of the 1996 Fort Edmonton Park season, the boiler on the 1919 Locomotive 107-the E.Y.&P. Railway's Steam Train Engine-was subject to rigorous inspection. This inspection determined that the firebox was in need of repair. Due to the age of the Locomotive, however, repairs proved to be both time-consuming and costly. To the dismay of the Foundation, the Park and all visitors, the Locomotive remained dismantled in the shop for the whole of the 1997 Park season. The Train's chief engineer, Brooke Edwards, was lucky to find a local shop-CESSCO Fabrication and Engineering-to do the rare historic repairs.
The Foundation finally celebrated the Train's being 'Back on Track' in the spring of 1998-just in time for the opening of the Park season.
